There are five essential components of our Ayurvedic and herbal products:
Herbal Ingredients: Extensive research and development have gone into selecting the highest quality herbal ingredients to ensure efficacy and safety. These ingredients are carefully chosen to provide optimal benefits and promote overall well-being.
Formulation: Our unique formulations are designed to maximize the therapeutic effects of the herbal ingredients. The distribution of active compounds is optimized to ensure consistent and effective results.
Absorption Mechanism: Our products are designed for effective absorption by the body, ensuring that the beneficial properties of the herbs are fully utilized. This mechanism provides long-lasting effects.
Protective Packaging: Our products are packaged to preserve their potency and prevent contamination. The packaging acts as a barrier to protect the integrity of the ingredients and ensure their efficacy until use.
Sustainability and Ethical Sourcing: We are committed to sustainability and ethical sourcing practices, including:
- Sustainable Harvesting: Our herbs are harvested in a way that preserves the environment and ensures the plants’ regeneration.
- Fair Trade Practices: We work with suppliers who adhere to fair trade practices, ensuring that farmers and workers are fairly compensated.
- Eco-Friendly Production: Our production processes are designed to minimize environmental impact, using eco-friendly methods and materials.
- Biodegradable Packaging: We use biodegradable packaging materials to reduce waste and support environmental sustainability.
The interaction among the key components (herbal ingredients, formulation, and protective packaging) is crucial in determining the effectiveness of our Ayurvedic and herbal products. To understand their working principles, we need to consider the journey of the active compounds through each component:
Barrier Layer:
When the herbal ingredients are applied, they penetrate the formulation layer and move into the absorption mechanism without losing potency. Once the active compounds reach the absorption mechanism, they are effectively utilized by the body and can provide sustained benefits.
A critical aspect of our products’ performance is the interface between the herbal ingredients and the formulation. The herbal ingredients are carefully selected for their compatibility and effectiveness, ensuring seamless integration into the formulation. Inconsistencies in the mixture can affect the absorption of active compounds, leading to suboptimal performance.
Blending and Processing:
Most Ayurvedic and herbal products use a blend of various plant extracts as the core component of the active material. This blend is prepared through meticulous extraction and processing techniques. Variability in plant extracts can introduce heterogeneity into the active material, potentially affecting the flow and retention of active compounds throughout the product.
Absorption and Stability:
The performance of our Ayurvedic and herbal products can be evaluated based on their absorption capacity and the amount of active compounds retained after application. Factors influencing absorption include the density of the formulation. Advanced techniques ensure that modern herbal products have uniform density and stability. A highly concentrated formulation maintains its integrity upon application, whereas a less concentrated one might disperse too quickly. Thus, precise formulation is essential to uphold the product’s structural integrity and effectiveness.
(i) Active Ingredient Delivery Layer:
The top layer is designed to effectively deliver active herbal ingredients from the surface to the immediate secondary layer. For optimal effectiveness, it ensures a consistent and sustained release. Traditional herbal products used multilayer plant material, which sometimes led to uneven distribution. To address this, we use advanced techniques to ensure that at least 20 percent of the fibers are specifically designed to facilitate efficient delivery of active compounds, providing a consistent and effective treatment.
(ii) Distribution and Absorption Layer:
Since the core ingredients cannot be immediately absorbed, this layer captures the active compounds, draws them away from the initial point of application, distributes them evenly, and holds them until the core layer can fully absorb them. This layer is typically made of thermally bonded or air-bonded composite non-woven materials, ensuring efficient distribution and sustained absorption.
(iii) Core Absorbent Layer:
The core layer of our products is made from a blend of high-quality herbal and Ayurvedic ingredients. Recently, we have incorporated Super Absorbent Polymers (SAP) with the herbal blend to enhance absorption. The positioning of SAP is crucial as it can clog the structure’s pores and restrict the absorption of active compounds. Therefore, SAP is carefully integrated with the herbal blend to ensure optimal absorption without hindering the delivery of active ingredients.
(iv) Protective Barrier Sheet:
The protective barrier sheet is designed to prevent leakage and ensure that the active ingredients remain within the product. Typically made of eco-friendly materials, it acts as a fluid-impermeable layer that preserves the integrity of the herbal compounds, ensuring they are effectively delivered to the intended area without contamination or loss of potency.
6.1 Absorption Capacity Test:
This method determines the total absorption capacity of our Ayurvedic and herbal products. According to the test standard ISO 5405-1980, a sample is placed on a flat, level, and transparent surface to observe the underside. A herbal solution is dripped at a rate of 15 ml per minute, with a total of 30 ml of the solution maintained at 27±2°C poured onto the center of the sample from a height of approximately 1 to 2 mm. Once the sample has absorbed the entire amount of fluid, a standard weight of 1 kg is placed on it for one minute at the absorption site. The back and sides of the sample are then checked for any fluid leakage, and the results are recorded.
6.2 Fluid Retention Capacity:
Fluid retention capacity is measured using the standard ASTM D 461. A sample of the product is immersed in a herbal solution at room temperature for five minutes to ensure complete saturation. The fluid-logged sample is then weighed, dried, and reweighed. Fluid retention is calculated as a percentage of the dry mass, indicating the product’s ability to retain the herbal solution.
6.3 Liquid Penetration Test:
A drop of the herbal test solution is allowed to fall on the sample, and the time taken for the solution to move from the upper layer to the inner layers is measured. This is observed by noting the appearance of a dull wet spot on the sample. All samples are conditioned for 24 hours before the tests to ensure consistency.
